A Message from Principal Bare

Dear AHS Families,

I am so looking forward to Ashland High School’s 128th Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 31, 2019. This remarkable group of graduates has reached this impressive accomplishment with the help of your guidance and support. For many families this is 13 years of partnership with the amazing professionals in the Ashland School District to put forward into the world these amazing young people.

This hit home for me last night as I celebrated our scholarship recipients, earning more than $183,000 in scholarships from 39 sponsors and local community organizations. The students are so deserving, and I am so grateful to the many organizations and sponsors that made it possible.

As we wind down these final weeks, I am inspired and grateful for both a remarkable past four years as Principal with this awesome group of young people, and all of the good things yet to come.

Scholarship Night

Senior Information

Graduation Day-- May 31 at Lithia Park Bandshell

9:00 am- All seniors meet at Lithia Park with caps and gowns for mandatory rehearsal

11:00 am- All seniors board buses at Lithia in Cap and Gown for the Parade of Scholars

12:00 pm- Buses return to Lithia Park. Seniors are dismissed until 5:30pm

5:00 pm- Lawn opens for seating. Any items placed before 5pm will be removed

5:15 pm- Preshow entertainment begins

5:30 pm- Graduates arrive at Lithia Park

6:15 pm- Procession begins

6:30 pm- Graduation Ceremony

10:15pm- Check in Senior All Night – Mountain Theater

3:00 am-3:30 am- Seniors return from Senior All Night – Mountain Theater

Please remember that the lawn seating area will be roped off until 5pm. Any items placed on the lawn before 5pm will be removed.

Graduation Photos

Official Photographer Cari Baker will be present at both graduation rehearsal and the graduation ceremony. Cari will take photographs of each student receiving his or her diploma. She will also be available prior to the ceremony for group or family photos. Photos will be uploaded 3 days after the ceremony. They may be viewed and purchased at

Come Celebrate Your Success!!

Purchase tickets at the AHS main office. Tickets are $35 this year and scholarships are available if needed. Below is IMPORTANT information about the party. Please read and review with your soon to be graduate.

WHAT IS IT? A night of celebration for YOU and your class. Parents have been working all year to put together a memorable night of fun and celebration.

WHERE IS IT? Family Fun Center! Food and drinks all night long, prizes bumper boats, Go-carts, human slingshot, DJ dance party, henna body art, mini golf, photo booth, food trucks, etc. Raffle prizes include: UE Boom Speaker! Nintendo Switch! Airpods! TV! Visa Card! Beats Headphones! And many more!! CASH CUBE

Every graduate in attendance gets a visit to the cash cube containing $2000 in cash plus a variety of prizes!

WHAT TO WEAR: Comfortable casual clothing like jeans and hoodies with comfortable shoes that will allow you to run all over the Family fun Center all night long! Some of the activities take place outside so be sure to have some warmer clothes.

WHAT TO BRING: You will need a photo ID (AHS student ID is fine!) and your recently graduated self!

WHAT NOT TO BRING: Backpacks, water bottles, purses. YOU WILL NOT NEED THEM – travel light! No outside food or beverages are allowed by the Family Fun Center. There is no place to store valuables please leave valuables at home. Everything you need to enjoy the party is provided!

Please Do Not bring anything you couldn’t bring to school, such as alcohol, drugs or weapons. Handbags and persons are all subject to inspection, if necessary.

CHECK-IN: Begins at 10:15 pm at the AHS Mountain Theater. Students will check in & move through a bag & clothing check prior to loading onto the buses. As soon

as the first bus is full, it heads to the party! The last bus departs AHS at 11 pm (sharp!), so please arrive at AHS no later than 10:45. Students will be transported back to AHS by bus between 3:00 and 3:30 am. Students will not be permitted to leave the party early except in the case of illness and then will only be released to a responsible adult. If you special circumstances, other arrangements must be cleared prior to the event by contacting Lindsay Gates @ 541-951-5911.

Summer School Credit Recovery Options

Students may earn 1.0 or more make-up credits by attending summer school. Students may recover up to 3.0 credits. The cost for the first 1.0 credit is $75.00* and each additional 1.0 credit is $40.00. *Limited scholarships available for students in need; please see your counselor.

College Application Writing Workshop--July 14, 21, 28

Want to reduce your senior year stress level? Get a jump start on your college applications this summer by taking a college application essay writing workshop! One workshop will take place at the Ashland Library, beginning July 14th with class sessions three consecutive Sunday afternoons; the other workshop will take place at the Talent Library, beginning on July 29th and will meet on Monday/Wednesday mornings for two weeks. These workshops will consist of interactive class sessions, individual consultations, and mentored writing assignments. Tuition will be affordable for all participants. ASPIRE at AHS: College and Career Mentoring

Many students are overwhelmed by the thought of planning for college. ASPIRE’s trained volunteer mentors can help students explore their educational options. Mentors assist students in researching colleges, preparing admissions and scholarship applications, understanding the financial aid process, and many other aspects of the road to education after high school. Now is a great time for interested juniors and sophomores to sign up for ASPIRE. Students can pick up an application in the AHS College and Career Center.
