Our Weeks Ahead
April 27 - May 10, 2018
We are currently studying why people immigrate from one country to another. We are studying why people came to America over the last 150 years -- what caused them to leave everything they owned and knew. We will also be talking about the countries that our families have immigrated from to get to America.
Math:
The students are working on improving their understanding of measurement. We are working on finding elapsed time, solving to find area and perimeter and identifying shapes and quadrilaterals.
Continue to practice math facts at home on a nightly basis.
Reading:
We are reviewing comprehending poetry. Students are making meaning by comparing two or more poems.
Writing:
We continue to work on writing our fractured fairy tales. Students are approximately halfway through their rough drafts.
