COSTUME SCENE INVESTIGATION
The businessman's suit was a high-waist jacket that was tight and was custom made by tailors. Short pants called knickers were popular in the 1920's and baggy oxford long pants became popular later in the decade. White button down shirts with a v-neck or fair isle sweater were commonly worn with bow ties. The "yachting" look became popular.
In 1919 skirts were calf length and long and all dresses and coats were calf length. Flapper dresses emerged in 1926 and they went down to above the knees. skirts revealed the knees only briefly between 1926 and 1928.
