Music Newsletter for March
Kindergarten is focusing on long and short sounds. Pitch going in both directions and being able to tell the difference. We will demonstrate these lessons on classroom instruments.
1st Grade will be learning about different rhythms, musical opposites, and performing the differences. Kindergarten and 1st are also starting their Spring Concert songs as well.
Kindergarten and 1st grade will have their concert on Wednesday, May 18th at 6:00P.M. More information to follow shortly.
2nd and 3rd Grade are doing their finishing touches for the concert on Wednesday, March 16th at 6:00 P.M. Remember to have your child go to their homeroom between 5:30 and 5:45 that night. As a reminder please wear a colorful top, brown, tan, or dark pants. Ladies may wear dresses, however due to the students performing on the risers, no high heels. Please stay away from jeans and tennis shoes. After the concert , for the safety of all performers, we ask that you pick up your child from their homeroom.
4th Grade will be working on note recognition, creating their own composition, and performing it for the class.
5th Grade focus will be on learning new rhythms, creating a musical composition as well, and note recognition on the Treble Clef staff and piano.
If you need any more information, please feel free to reach out to me at your earliest convenience.
