Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB)

Over the winter break is a great time to read the OBOB books! Families can enjoy reading these books aloud with their child, listen to audiobooks while on road trips and have fun quizzing each other on trivia from the stories.

After winter break, teams will have a chance to practice during their lunch recess time. If teams wish to meet outside of school and quiz each other, that is permitted. School Battles will begin the week of January 17th.

PTO After-School Club Updates

New Club Announcement:

Story Club

Everyone loves a good story.

This story begins in January. On cold and rainy Wednesdays. Third and fourth grade Oak Hills Elementary students who meet after school in Class TBD. Some wanted to be there, some went because their friend did, and some maybe had their adults force them to be there. Sometimes Story Club Members debate serious topics: like the best way to eat Oreo cookies. Sometimes a story club member decides to share a poem, or a joke. But every week they hear a very good story. And every week they have some kind of activity inspired by the book. The activity is fun, it’s entertaining. And talking with friends? It is not allowed, it is REQUIRED.

For families wondering what is this really all about? It is a club that starts with a question, followed by a good story and a brief chat. Then students will break into small groups to do something different every week that will be hands-on, and allow their amazing humans to talk and share and be silly, and make friends.

Welcome to 3rd and 4th Graders

Preparing for Inclement Weather

Beaverton School District Inclement Weather Information

When we have inclement weather, school schedules could be affected. School closure or delayed start decisions will typically be communicated to media outlets and posted on the district website, ParentSquare and social media by 5:30 a.m. The District makes decisions based on the ability to operate school buses safely, the ability of parents and students to drive safely, and the ability of students to walk safely. Decisions are made for the entire District. However, we encourage families to make transportation and attendance decisions for their children based on their own assessment of travel conditions at their locations.

For the latest inclement weather information:
