Course Aims
This course will give teachers:
- The confidence to teach their pupils in the New Computing Curriculum using *iPad Apps.
- A sound knowledge of computing terminology and tried and tested lesson ideas, which will engage and enthuse learners across Key Stage 1 & 2, that they can use immediately in their classrooms.
- An opportunity to explore how the creative use of apps can be used for AfL, summative assessment and how computing can be embedded into other areas of the curriculum.
*The course features the use of iPad Minis, which will be provided on the day (no experience necessary).
Course Presenter
Alongside colleague Chris Williams, David Andrews shares his work on the popular and influential blog www.mrandrewsonline.blogspot.com which has recently been recognised as one of the top 3 blogs in the UK in Education by the National UK Blog Awards.
David, having recently left his role as a teacher, has been working extensively with a large number of schools delivering lessons and sharing ideas with teachers on how the planned use of mobile technology can have an immediate and sustained impact on standards across the curriculum. He has presented his work on Computing at recent conferences for the National Association of Head Teachers and Focus Education. He has also written lesson plans using a range of programming apps on how these can be used to show progression from Year 1 to Year 6.
