WLN Homecoming Week!
The Walled Lake Northern Knights have once again extended an invitation for the Keith Elementary Dragons to participate in the annual Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 20th. We will need to line up for the parade at 5pm on the North side of the building near the picnic tables. There will be a Dragons sign posted where we can all meet before lining up for the parade. New this year, the WLN Student Council would like to try to get a total count of student participants so that they might be able to ensure they have enough "Future Knight" T-Shirts ordered for the students who would like to participate in the parade. Please Sign Up HERE. Please sign your child up by Wednesday, September 11th. A hard copy of this form with information was sent home with your children today.

Announcements From our Keith PTA:
The Next Keith PTA Meeting is Wednesday, October 2nd at 6pm in the Keith Media Center
PTA President's Corner:
PTA President’s Cliff’s Notes on the First PTA Meeting:
For those who don’t follow Keith Elementary PTA on social media, here’s a moment you missed Tuesday night ->
(Interact with your Keith Elementary PTA on Facebook. Follow our page and get immediate updates, insider info and…who knows? A random pic? A shout out?)
First meeting went well! I meant to offer my thanks to past president Leigh Shemenski for her good example last year in leading the Keith PTA, and I hope our meetings this year achieve equal measure. (Barring my headphone-clad 5 year-old son shouting in my face out of urgent desire for tic tacs, then we might have a shot.)
Lots of new faces, lively discussion, and SNACKS. Thank you for bringing them, Sara Greer, Chair of Health and Wellness. There was levity in solving the mystery of an inherited chest freezer, and gravity in the budget report presented by our illustrious treasurer, Katie Mobley. Thank you, always, for crunching and explaining those numbers.
We enjoyed all the parent participation from folks like Natalie, Sheree, Allison, Melissa…and the other Melissa, Jen…and the other Jen (the left-handed one). Kristen made an impression with her leadership in taking over the Giving Garden and Green Team. We are thrilled.
Two Big Takeaways:
1) Our annual Keith PTA FUN RUN Fundraiser is on Friday, 9/27/19. The THEME is BUBBLES, BANDS and… (surprise!) there’s a BONUS: Behold, a community COLOR RUN will also be held, the next day on Saturday, 9/28/19. Stay tuned for the flyers and details to follow.
2) We have a NEW REFLECTIONS CHAIR! Everyone please welcome and thank Ashleigh Sonnenberg Okkerse who stepped into this PTA Board position to take over the Art Contest this year. She will be featured on the PTA Matrix sheet.
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR:
· Math Club (need leader for teaching the board games and coaching kids to participate in the local spring Pentathlon):
· Fun Run and Color Run parent help;
· Spelling Bee practice coach (half hour a week for 8 weeks);
· Box Tops;
