The Highland Academy Weekly

Educating for Leadership, Educating for Life

Principal Greetings

Dear Highland Community,

Thanks to all who came out to our Open House/Back To School Night. We hope you left with answers to your questions, lots of new questions, and most importantly, a sense of community and new connections with Highland staff and fellow parents. We all enjoyed getting to know you and your family better.

We have MAP Growth testing coming up next week. Students will test in their Language Arts and Math classes, which will greatly minimize lost instructional time. The results of this adaptive test are used to drive data-based decisions on personalizing your child's educational needs. You can help by discussing the importance of this test at home, ensuring a good night's sleep, and a hearty dinner and breakfast before their test date. If you have any questions or concerns about this test, feel free to email us.

We have received many requests for an Empower tutorial at our upcoming Parent Workshop on Sept 18. I will be sending an RSVP survey next week to identify Empower needs.

It is our sincere hope that these weekly emails are helpful. If there is something we could do to make this more user friendly for you, please let us know.

We continued to be honored to work with you and your family.

All the best,

~Ms. Johnson & Ms. Crosby
