Searching the internet
(the right way!)
Easy as 123
1. SUBSCRIPTION DATABASE!
2. SUBJECT DIRECTORY!
3. SEARCH ENGINE!
SUBSCRIPTION DATABASE!
A subscription database is the first place you would look to find information because it has the most reliable info. People won't buy bad information!
SUBJECT DIRECTORY!
Subject directories are the second place you would look because real people go through the information to make sure it is valid.
SEARCH ENGINE!
A search engine is the last place you would look because a robot would put the website that said your topic the most but it doesn't meant that the information is true.
URL!
A URL is the web address. You can use it to see if a website is reliable if the end of the address is .edu, .gov, or .net.
Some other things that can help you decide if a website is reliable are checking other sites to see if they have the same information or click on "More about the Author" and will explain the site is reliable. You can if the website is regularly updated. If it is not, the information may be out of date.
