2nd Reading/Writing Planning
April 13-17
This is what a week could look like.
Reading Planning - Module 9
- Week 1 Lesson 4 :
- Theme: Home Sweet Habitat
- Essential Question: How do living things in a habitat depend on each other?
- Vocabulary: adjusting, coast, crouches, flock, generations, harsh, mingles, pieced, prances, preserving, role, route, trills, wobbly
- Essential Skills- Text organization
This is just a suggestion. I thought this was the easiest TEKS that was on week 1. None of the skills are new learning but the reading for this one might be more fun. Feel free to choose any skill you want.
- Foundational Skills: Decoding: Prefix pre-; Multisyllabic Words
- My Book: The Best Habitat for Me
Istation: 30 minutes per day, 3 times a week is still an expectation. There really aren't many students who have been on Istation at all so a reminder might be good.
Writing Planning
1. Link to Writable.com. There are some really good short writing assignments on there. This one has a video so it might be more engaging.

Watch the video linked in the prompt, then answer these questions in a paragraph:
What is Veterans Day? What do we celebrate on Veterans Day and why is it important? How has Veterans Day changed over time?

2. Technology is replacing many jobs today. Identify a job that is unlikely to be replaced by technology.
Social Studies
New learning for social studies will not begin until April 20. You can use the chart below or pick up where you have left off. I know everyone is in a different place and not necessarily where the district pacing guide says we should be.
