Little Rockets News!
Dear Families,
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, grandmothers, step-mothers, foster mothers, and those that serve a role as a mother in whatever capacity that may be. We also remember those mothers that are no longer with us, as a mother's love is always present.
This week THURSDAY is our 4K Concert at Riverside Park! All of our 4K classrooms, from each of our sites, will be gathering together to celebrate a wonderful year of 4K! We hope you are able to join us! As a reminder, the AM classes will perform at 9:15 and the PM classes will perform at 1:15. The concert will last about an hour.

4K Concert Reminders for Thursday, May 17th!
Please remember, students should report to school on Thursday, May 17 as normal. We will be taking the students to Riverside Park by school bus. Please understand, for the safety of all children, you WILL NOT be able to bring your child to the concert, but are welcome to sign him/her out and take them home after the concert. Specific dismissal procedures will be announced at the end of the concert.
Riverside Park in Neenah is located next to the river, and that leads to our staff's biggest concern for safety. We will bring children to the park on the buses and students will remain with their teachers, AT ALL TIMES, until the conclusion of the concert. Please do not call your child away from his/her teacher to visit with family or to take individual pictures. You will have time after the concert to take family pictures. (Please note that teachers will not be available for pictures as they will be supervising other students at this time.)
The dismissal form that you sent in last week gives your child's teacher information about your child’s plan for after the concert. It is IMPERATIVE that you communicate, face-to-face, with your child's teacher and sign your child out before taking him/her from the supervision of our staff. If you are not signing your child out after the concert, he/she will return to school on the bus and be dismissed from school as normal.
WEATHER!
As of now, the weather forecast for Thursday looks beautiful. Since there is not a make-up date scheduled for the concert (due to a very busy Riverside Park schedule), we will do everything we can to hold the concert that day. We will even do so in a light rain, as the students will be covered on stage. IF there is any change in weather and we need to cancel, you will receive a TEXT and/or EMAIL with that information.
End-of-Year Assessments
Our 4K students will participate, one-on-one with their teacher, in the following assessments:
May 14-24: 4K PALS (literacy)
In addition, our EC and 4K teachers will also be working on final progress report assessments, as well as finishing up projects and other items as we end our year.
Thank you for your understanding and for assisting with having your child at school!
Washington & A Child's Imagination PTO UPDATES!
News from the PTO:
- The PTO arranged a field trip to the local fire station for 4K classes. Two 4K classes visited the fire station in April, and the remaining classes will visit in May.
