January in the Library
2018
Spotlight On: Historical Fiction!
Sometimes a less popular genre, historical fiction is great! Not only do you get a great story, but you can experience a different time and place.
January Makerspace: Origiami
In January our makerspace activity was origami. Students used books and online videos to make origami creations. Some students started with basics, like making a box or lantern, while others tackled difficult creations like paper tulips.
Collaboration with Teachers
It was a busy month! After winter break, 6th, 7th and 8th grade English classes came to the library to hear about new books and choose independent reading books for the second trimester.
Ms. Lechan worked with a number of teachers to create LibGuides to assist students with research. There was a wide variety of topics: ancient Babylon, drug abuse, African imperialism and extreme weather, to name a few!

Did you know we have a fabricating machine in the library? You can use it to cut out text and pictures or create your own design to then be cut. Use it for bulletin boards or classroom decorations, or make a project out of it for your class!
