AIR Testing Information
As you may know, earlier this week the federal government announced that they would not be offering state testing waivers. This means we will be administering AIR tests to students. Below you will find the dates for each test.
While the testing waiver will not be granted, the tests will not hold the same level of accountability for districts as they have in the past. Scores will not be published or used for district/building report cards and there will be no penalties or enforcement for test performance or participation levels. Results will not be used for teacher evaluations. Students will not be retained or placed in leveled classes based on their results for classes at the Greene School.
If there is a reason your child will not be testing, you will need to email Mr. Tudor (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the reason by the end of the day on FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2021. Please let us know if there are any questions.

Transition Information for Rising 6th Graders
Class Placement Information
We are excited to welcome your child back to the Greene School for 6th grade. It is our intention to open school next year as normal as possible. This means we will go back to 16 homerooms for 6th graders. The homerooms will once again be grouped into four teams that consist of one teacher from each core subject (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies).
We will once again place your child in a homeroom with one friend. On March 22nd, I will email you a Student Information Form. This is an opportunity for you to provide us with the names of at least six preferred peers as well as other important information about your child. This means your child will be in homeroom, lunch, and recess with the preferred peer. They may also have some classes with them. You will learn your child’s homeroom teacher and team this summer. We will email the primary contact placement information. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept requests for teachers or teams.
Information about Music Classes for 21-22
We plan on allowing students to take two music classes again next year. During the week of May 3, the music teachers will be visiting all classes to discuss the ability to take two music classes with students. They will collect information from students that we will use for scheduling purposes. The music teachers will then send a confirmation to the parents of any student who is requesting a change. Below is the contact information for our music teachers. Please reach out to them with any questions you have.
Mr. Tim Graulty (Band) email@example.com
Mrs. Kristin Anderson (General Music) firstname.lastname@example.org
Mr. Tanner Otto (Orchestra) email@example.com
Mr. Joe Dilley (Choir) firstname.lastname@example.org
This morning the Greene School administration was notified that construction for the new building will begin over Spring Break. The firm hired by the district will start by placing a fence around the construction area. We realize that this new fence will force us to change our dismissal pattern, as it will encompass the back parking area behind the cafeteria.
Beginning on Monday, March 22, 2021, cars will not be permitted on the Greene School property for pickup until 3:00 pm. We are pushing back the time due to the fact that when cars arrive early, they back up traffic, and buses are unable to get to their designated place at the Greene School. To ensure compliance with this new time that cars are allowed on the property, we will be assisted by a representative from one of our local law enforcement agencies.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation regarding this new procedure.
Please note that student drop off (7:15 am - 8:15 am) procedures will NOT change.
Have a good Spring Break and we will see you on the 22nd.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently authorized the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) through the 2020-2021 school year. To qualify for P-EBT during the 2020-2021 school year, children must be approved for free or reduced-price meals either in the 2019-2020 or the 2020-2021 school years.
If families qualify for free or reduced price meals LAST school year and you have not filled out a form yet for the 2020-21 school year, it is important that you fill out a form again this school year if you feel you will qualify.
If families did not qualify for free and reduced priced meals last school year but believe they might this school year due to financial changes during this unprecedented time please fill out a free and reduced price meal application online here. Any families who qualify this school year will not only receive P-EBT for each student they have in the district, but also receive free or reduced priced meals for the first 30 days of next school year.
We understand that everyone is receiving free meals this school year, but filling out this form is necessary for ANY other benefit that it provides - this includes but is not limited to the P-EBT through ODJFS, fee waivers, extracurricular waivers, building assistance programs, etc.
More information on filling out a free and reduced price meal application can be found here.
Contact the Child Nutrition Department with any further questions. (513) 686-1796.

Greene School Yearbook - Uploading photos
We realize this has been a most challenging school year and we would like you to help us with our yearbook photos. We want to ensure that all of our Greene students appear in the yearbook, and we would also like to show what student life has been like at the Greene School.
If your student was not photographed during our two fall picture days, you may upload a portrait to a website, which Jostens has created for Greene School photos. Please be sure to include name, grade, and homeroom. The website allows parents to upload photos directly to our yearbook "library." You will "choose a file", enter your email address, and fill in the requested information. Also, if you have any photos of your student(s) engaging in school sponsored activities, you may also upload those photos as well. Here is the website.
This website will be available until March 15, 2021. Thank you for your assistance in making the Greene School yearbook a memorable one!
