This Week in 2nd Grade
February 17, 2019
WELCOME TO ISRAEL!
Shalom! This week we turned our attention to Israel and started exploring the similarities and differences between the United States and Israel. We studied photographs and watched two short videos to start to get a sense of Israel. Over the next two weeks, we will be creating a flip book about Israel. Ask your child something he or she learned today. We also reviewed all of our Hebrew letters and played a quick motion game with the names and sounds of all the letters we've learned so far.
Next week we are having a PAJAMA DAY!!! The kids earned this special treat by filling our puff jar and are very excited to come to Sunday School in their pjs!
Have a great week!

LEARNING ABOUT ISRAEL
Ask your child what Israel looks like!
MITZVAH MADNESS
It's a big one this week, but I know many of you can do this good deed!
PAJAMA DAY NEXT WEEK!
We earned it!! Come to Sunday School in your pjs next week!
MITZVAH MADNESS
This week's Mitzvah Madness is a little more labor intensive, but in light of one 2nd grade friend having four fire trucks at his house this week (all is ok!), we thought it was a good one. If you have time this week, please bake (or buy) a treat for your local fire department as an expression of gratitude for their service and drop if off them to enjoy.
TZEDAKAH
It's official.... I'm up on a chair to be able to continue to fill in our tzedakah chart! The generosity is amazing! Please remember to help your child find ways to earn their own money to donate for tzedakah. Every little bit counts! :) This month's tzedakah is going to an organization called Share Our Spare to help supply infant necessities for families in need. You can learn more about Share Our Spare at https://shareourspare.org.
