Welcome December! North Avenue At A Glance

The third six weeks is well on its way and will be over be we know it. This first semester is going by fast! With that being said, T-TESS observations have begun and will be conducted throughout the third six weeks. In addition, MOY Lion assessments will also be taking place during this time frame. Remember the third six week testing window will opening soon as well, so there is a lot of things going on in a short period of time! Please reminder your student(s) to stay focused. Finally, we are implementing two CIF instructional strategies into our lesson per week. Our ultimate goal is to get to where our students are using these strategies 70 percent of their instructional time. We can do this, because we are Team North! On time, On Task, and On a mission!

New to team North!

Parents we are excited to announce the hiring of three new members to North Avenue! Please help us in welcoming Mrs. Erica Villarreal to North Avenue, she is coming from Seguin ISD and will be serving as the new assistant principal. In addition, Mrs. Star Davis and Mrs. Alexandra Reyna will serve as paraprofessional aides on campus. They are all excited and eager to work with our students and community.

Arrival & Dismissal

The safety of your child is of utmost importance to us here at North Avenue. With that in mind, we have put procedures in place to help with this.

CAR RIDERS:

  • Always drop off and pick them up in the car rider line. Yes, it may take a few minutes, but the congestion across the street is hazardous when there are so many trying to pick up at once. Ms. King has asked parents NOT to drop off or pick up their child on her property...please be thoughtful and respect that this is her place of business.
  • If your child is a car rider, the individual who is picking them up MUST have a card rider sign or they need to come into the front office to sign them out.
  • Also, it is imperative that you DO NOT drop your child off in the bus rider line!

WALKERS:

If your child is a walker, please remind your child to cross only at the cross walks. We have dedicated staff assigned to help ensure they are crossing safely.

RAINY DAY DISMISSAL:

If your child is normally a walker and it is a rainy day, be sure to have a plan in place for your child. On rainy days, if they need to be a car rider, that is fine; be sure that they are aware of the plan you have in place and send a note to us here at the front office so we can keep it on file. On days such as these, be sure you have a car rider sign for picking them up. If you don't have one, just contact the front office and we will get you one.

Again, the safety of your child is our first priority. If you have any questions or concerns about the procedures we have in place, please do not hesitate to contact
