What's Happening at Conrad?
It is hard to believe what we all experienced a year ago this month, but I am so very thankful for where we are today with our students in school and life somewhat returning to normal. At Conrad, we are looking forward to the next couple of months and celebrating all that's been achieved this school year.
Although we are not quite at the point to have a large in-person event just yet, we are planning a virtual Family Literacy Event that will run throughout this month. Beginning next Tuesday, March 9th, through Wednesday, March 31st, members of our Conrad staff will be reading one of their favorite books and sharing a fun activity and/or dress up day in conjunction with the story. We look forward to all of our families participating in this virtual event and have a gift for each family who participates in at least 2 read aloud nights! Participation will be counted by a completed survey returned by Friday, April 2nd. A Calendar of Events will be sent this week informing which staff member(s) will be reading throughout the month and the corresponding dress up days. Throughout the month, we would love for you to post pictures of your child participating in the events and/or dressed up, as some of the days will be non-school days (Mondays and over Spring Break).
Next Monday, Feb. 8th is Fountain-Fort Carson's Kindergarten Round-Up. This event will be hosted virtually by each elementary school throughout the district for all families of students who will turn five by October 1, 2021 and will attend Kindergarten within the district in the fall. Each elementary school's virtual link is located on the FFC8 website. If you have questions, you may call your child's home school as listed on the Kindergarten Round-Up flyer, on the website, or you can call Conrad ELC.
If you have not completed the Parent Survey already, please take a couple of minutes to give your feedback before March 3rd. The information you share through this survey helps us know what we are doing well and where we need to improve. I appreciate your feedback as we continue to grow and do what is best for our students. You can access the Parent Survey with this link or on the District Homepage.
Spring class pictures will be on March 11th. This year, Lifetouch will take class and individual pictures of all students. An order form will be sent home within the week. Please return the order form with your child or place your order online (information below) prior to picture day so that all paid photos are accounted for. School photos are usually delivered to the school within a month and will be sent home with the child.
Thank you to Conrad's PTO for putting together our first annual Conrad ELC Recipe Yearbook! It has been sent to the print shop and is ready for pre-order! The Recipe Yearbook turned out super cute and will be a keepsake for years to come. If you are interested in ordering, the book will only be $8.00 and will be available to purchase online through Rev-Trak on the District Website ($ Pay Student Fees tab). Instructions are available on the Conrad website and will be sent through REMIND.
Your child will be bringing home a toothbrush and coloring pages as a culmination of Dental Health Month (February). Please note that the toothbrushes were donated from a local dentist's office, and we are not intending to endorse this office. We want to share the generous donation and hope each of our students enjoys a new toothbrush to care for their teeth, gums, and tongue.
Parents, please be mindful of you and your child standing in muddy areas when the ground is wet during drop off/pick up. It would be best to remain on the sidewalks, socially distanced in a line. For example on the East side of the building, Mrs. Gasser's and Mrs. Kayla's lines could be on one sidewalk, separated across from each other, and Mrs. Nauert's line would be on the opposite end of the sidewalk. We value you and your child's health and safety in addition to our school's cleanliness. Continue to use the QR Code/Google form to sign your child in/out every day, wear your face covering while on school property, and maintain social distancing.
We almost round out March with Spring Break during the week of March 22nd-26th. I hope you all take some time to rest, relax, and enjoy the time with family. If traveling, be safe and have fun. If you're staycationing, be safe and have fun. Hopefully, we'll have nice weather so we can all begin to enjoy springtime! Here's to a Magnificent March!
Kindly,
Stephanie Lee
