It was our final full week of school

Whether you are aware or not, we just completed our final full week of school. We have a couple of 4 day weeks and then one 4 1/2 day week and the school year will be over. There is still a lot of learning to do, and there will be some fun mixed in as well. It's also nearing the end of our testing. I have been able to hand out a lot of high fives and fist bumps as students let me know about how well they've done on classroom assessments, MAP testing, and F&P testing. The results of these will be in Skyward when our report cards are ready in June. Please encourage your child to maintain their focus on school even though they see the end is near. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Fluid Power Challenge

Last week, a couple of our teams of engineers competed in the Fluid Power Challenge. You can see some pictures below. The students did an amazing job. Below is a link to the story in the Lake Country Reporter.

One of our teams won the challenge portion of the competition. There is a video below showing the completed challenge. We are very proud of the efforts of our students and thankful for the help from Mr. Wagner and Mrs. Meissner.

Spring Book Fair

In preparation for summer reading, there will be a Spring Book Fair from May 31st until June 6th. This will take place in the Intermediate School library. We're in need of some volunteers during the school day as well as one evening (June 2nd, our concert night). Please use the link below to sign up for volunteer spots.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Celebration Day is June 3rd!

Celebration Day, sponsored by the PTO, is on Friday, June 3rd. It's always a great way to celebrate an awesome school year. The PTO is looking for volunteers. Please use the link below to sign up for volunteer spots.

Thanks for considering to join us on this great day.

Kona Ice will be at Celebration Day again this year. I have included a flyer to the email including this smore for further information.

Community Garden

Some of you may remember our Community Garden from last year. Well, after listening to the weather forecasts, it seems like we may be able to plant right after the Memorial Day weekend. That means we'll start getting to work on Tuesday, May 31st. There are a host of interested students and staff who are ready to prepare the garden for planting, but we could use some help. If you know of anyone with a good sized rototiller, we could really use it to get the soil ready. We are also looking for donations of plants (tomatoes, onions, beans, squash, or other edible vegetables) to grow for three purposes- for use in our school lunches next year, for use in cooking with some of our students next year, and to donate to local food pantries next year. If you can help us out in any way, please contact me via email ( Thanks!

Final Homework Club date is Tuesday, May 24th

Homework Club has been a place for a number of students to get help with homework, work on group projects, or just read. Next Tuesday, May 24th will be our final night for Homework Club this year. Thanks to all of the staff who helped out (Mrs. Zimmermann, Miss Depies, Miss Kohnert, and Mrs. Parnau were the regulars). We will continue again next year some time in September.
