Universal Design for Learning - Representation

Last week, we looked at options for representing language, mathematical expressions, and symbols by comparing UDL to the back of a cake mix box. This week, we look at options for comprehension or understanding.

Here are a few links that support options for comprehension.

Digging for answers This Smithsonian website activates and supplies background knowledge of interesting topics in a game like setting.

3-D Geometry Highlighting patterns and critical features in geometry helps students understand big ideas and concepts.

Read with Me Another digital reading site, but this one offers adults a glimpse at how to guide information processing with young readers.

Quizlet As the name indicates, this site offers thousands of ways to practice transfer and generalization of information. From flashcards to word games, “study sets” can be created for all manner of vocabulary in several languages as well as math facts.

OPPORTUNITIES - Dyslexia Seminar, Softball, Hockey
