This teacher leader development series is designed for experienced teachers of languages who are interested in developing their personal leadership skills and knowledge in the area of second language education.
This series supports teachers and teacher leaders interested in strengthening their own leadership, as well as those who wish to pursue district, provincial or national language leadership roles. Topics and activities include curriculum and resources; the Ministerial Order on Student Learning (#001/2013); effective programming; intercultural awareness; trends that impact languages education and leadership networking.
Throughout the course series, participants complete a number of assignments, and are mentored individually through leadership development by the instructors.
Note: Leadership in Languages course series is now offered as part of the District's Leadership Development Framework. While it is not mandatory for Leadership in Languages participants to be registered in the framework, it is strongly encouraged.
