How is it born? How does the mother care for it’s young?

A lion cub is born through live birth from a female lion. They come in litters ranging from 1 to 5 cubs. when raising a lion cub the mother lion will either nurture it to a young adult, or will neglect it completely and not care for it at all. If this happens,a different lioness may take over the role of caring for the cubs and letting them nurture. Cubs begin to eat meat after three months, and even three months after that they are still nursing.

How does it get its food? What does it eat?

Lions are carnivores, meaning they eat meat. They’re predators, so they hunt prey to obtain their food. In a pride, female lions are the main hunters, so they go out in packs to single out antelopes, zebras, wildebeest, and other large animals that they will eat. Teamwork is a big key for them when hunting prey, many of the animals they try to eat are faster than them, so it’s very useful to hunt in a pack.

Who are it’s enemies, and how does it defend itself?

The lion has a small array of enemies, because it is a fierce and dangerous animal, not many other animals will mess with it. Its enemies include buffalo, elephant, and hyenas. The biggest enemy of the lion though is human. Humans are constantly affecting the population of the lions due to poachers and hunters trying to make money. Lions defend themselves with razor sharp teeth and claws, and a vicious roar that wards off predators.
