Week 9 - Term 1 - Thursday 25 March 2021

From the Principal's Desk…

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe we are almost at the end of term and a much better end to this term than last year.

We have had an action packed last few weeks with our zero bullying presentation on Friday 12th March. All students participated in these sessions and came away with many lessons learnt on how we should treat each other.

Last Friday saw our Colour Fun Run. What a fantastic event – it was terrific to see everyone having the best of fun – students, parents and teachers. I did enjoy my shower when I got home. A huge thank you to everyone who helped on the day! It was such a success due to the support we receive from our community.

This Friday we are hosting a Curriculum Day here for four other schools and teachers will be learning more about the use of good quality literature and how we can use these mentor texts to assist in our teaching. This is a pupil free day.

Tuesday night (30th) is parent teacher interviews, please make sure that you have booked a time with your child’s teacher. The cut-off date is the 29th March. Interviews will run from 2pm till 7:30pm. There is no need to collect your child early as specialists will be running different programs until 3:30pm – normal dismissal time.

Next week we are holding a Prep Open Night for 2022, if you have or know of anyone who is looking at schools for next year please suggest they attend. This is an opportunity for both parents to come along and learn why Healesville Primary is the school for you in 2022. We will start at 6pm on Wednesday 31st March in our prep classrooms.

Term one will finish on Thursday 1st April at 2:30pm. We will hold a final assembly at 2pm, everyone is welcome. Please note that if your child is a bus traveller the bus will be coming at 2:10pm.

Term Two commences on Monday 19th March and is a ten week term. We have lots of activities planned already, house cross country, house athletics, our book fair and we will holding our first working bee on Saturday 1st May. It has been such a long time since we have been able to hold a working bee and we have quite a lot of gardening that school council are hoping to get done. There will be more information about this at the start of term two.

I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Easter and holiday.

Take care,

Tracey Robertson-Smith
