Resource Fair
Have you visited the Parent to Parent of Georgia Website?
Parent to Parent of Georgia is the statewide database and support for resources in Georgia. They host a number of training sessions and can match you with a supporting parent that may have similar circumstances. We are thankful to be a recipient of Parent to Parent grants that fund our parent training sessions. Be sure to put our next training on your calendar for January 28th where Cam and Madi’s Promise will be providing assistance in filing for the Katie Beckett Waiver and Now/Comp Waiver.

What's on your mind?
It's never too early to start planning for your child's transition to post-secondary life. The IEP meeting is a great place to discuss your child's transition plan and develop goals but do you have questions about guardianship, post-secondary education, supported employment and community support? Just ask! I can be reached by email at ldickson@paulding.k12.ga.us or phone 770-949-9221 ext. 40069.
Transition Activities for Students
Did you know that transition activities are taking place in our district throughout the year?
- A group of PCSD students attended the Fall Open House at Roosevelt Warm Springs. Students were able to tour the campus and student dorms, talk to instructors and gather information to take home to share with their families.
- On October 22nd, PCSD students attended a tour of Chattahoochee Technical College in Dallas. They were able to observe programs in action and ask questions. Our students were informed of the accommodations offered to students with disabilities and how to access them. They also completed a transition assessment and enjoyed lunch at Chick-fil-a.
