Salmon's Week 33 Update
May 15th - 19th
Overview
Reading: We will be reading a story titled Encyclopedia Brown a mystery. This is short story about the young detective that solves the mystery of the "gasping garbage". In Walk to Read we will continue our novel Brian's Winter a sequel to Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
Writing - Poetry will continue for the next two weeks.
Social Studies - Our Mountain Region Unit will continue into the next few weeks.
Science - We are continuing our study of the water cycle and will take a quiz over this prior to the long Memorial Day weekend.
Farm Fair - Oh What Fun!!
Ice Cream in a Can Recipe
2 cups half and half
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Mix all ingredients. Pour approximately 1 cup of mixture into a small (1lbs) coffee can. Place small can into a large (3lbs) coffee can. Surround small can with ice and rock salt (we use water softener salt). Roll 10-15 minutes. You can also use quart and gallon size freezer bags and shake instead of rolling.

Dear Students and Parents,
We are happy to announce plans for the annual Ridge View Fourth Grade Talent Show. There will be two different shows; one on Tuesday, June 6th and one on Wednesday, June 7th starting at 8:30 AM.
Participating children will be notified of their performance date prior to the events. Fourth grade parents are welcome to attend.
** please note that your child must attend a "dress rehearsal" the afternoon before they preform. You must arrange transportation home after the rehearsal.

May 29th: Memorial Day ( no school)
June 6th-June 7th: 4th Grade Talent Show 8:30
June 8th: Bubble Ceremony 2:00 PM
June 9th: Last Day (Early Release)
