Alcoholism or alcohol dependence is a diagnosable disease characterized by a strong craving for alcohol, and/or continued use despite harm or personal injury. Alcohol abuse, which can lead to alcoholism, is a pattern of drinking that results in harm to one's health, interpersonal relationships, or ability to work.Excessive alcohol use leads to approximat​ely 88,000 deaths and 2.5 million years of potential life lost.

Depression or Anger
This is the depression stage Alcohol is a depressant. That means any amount you drink can make you more likely to get the blues. Drinking a lot can harm your brain and lead to depression.
Suicide
65% of suicides have been linked to excessive drinking; 70% of men who take their own life drink alcohol before doing so; almost one third of suicides among young people take place while the person is intoxicate​d.
