OLVCS Updates
June 3, 2022
Dear Parents,
Congratulations to our 8th Graders who have completed their days at OLV! I know that they will be sincerely missed here in the halls of our school. I pray they will grow in their understanding of God’s Will for their lives and find the peace that comes in following that. Of course, I hope that for all of our students.
As I stated in my last newsletter, we have a busy schedule this summer with improvements being made inside and outside of the school by staff and volunteers. Thanks to the Boyle, Sillner and Spencer families will give our gaga pit a well-needed upgrade this summer. Promethean Boards, basically giant touch pad computers, will be installed in every classroom. Several Boy Scout alumni are going to be making improvements to the appearance of parts of the school. The graduating 8th Grade Class will be donating an aquarium for our study and enjoyment, and numerous other projects are in development for the summer.
As another school year comes to a close, I want to tell everyone what a pleasure it’s been to serve as principal of Our Lady of Victory. I won’t lie; there have been many challenges, but there have been a great many of you who have assisted in overcoming or managing them. I thought about those challenges when I passed Easterly Parkway Elementary on Wednesday. I’m not picking on them, for the record. A lawn sign was planted in front of the school that said, “You are stronger than you know.” I’m not sure if the person who posted that sign was a person of faith or not, but I am in agreement with the sentiment for at least three reasons:
“The LORD is my strength and my shield, in whom my heart trusts.” Psalm 27:7
“I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.” Philippians 4:13
“Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
I hope that the Lord’s strength will be with all of our OLV families this Summer. Enjoy!
In Christ,
Jim Hoy
