Ayn Rand's Life

  • Ayn Rand wrote fiction, plays, and dystopians.

  • Born in St. Petersburg Russia

  • Taught herself to read at age six

  • Ayn Rand did marry at some point in her life to Frank O'Connor.

  • Decided her career early on at age 9. And stuck to it

  • Her family temporarily moved to crimea

  • In late 1925 she was granted permission to go to the states to visit her family for a short time, but decided to stay, never to return to Russia again.

  • Graduates from Yevpatoria High School in 1921

  • She graduated from Leningrad State University 2 days later she enrolls in Technicum for screen arts, in 1924.

  • In 1926, she moved to Chicago with some relatives of hers.

  • She became an official US citizen on March 13, 1931.

  • The last time she had spoken to her parents was in 1939.

  • She permanently moves to New York City in 1951.

  • Rand received the honorary doctorate from Lewis and Clark University in 1963.

  • Rand also taught a nonfiction writing course in 1969.

  • AYn Rand passes away March 6, 1982 in New York City.
