St. Thomas Church
Serving God and the Community Since 1875
Thank you to those who have responded by signing a pledge card for this year, (more about that later).
Thank to you who brought you family to celebrate Christmas Eve with us, especially the children.
The tubs were full of things for One Mans Treasure for men leaving prison and for The Gather in Dallas. Coats go well in this weather.
I am so glad that we have come to Ennis. We have enjoyed getting to know most of you and we are looking forward to this next year as well.
We welcome some new people attending with us, Jarvis & Colita Wilkerson and Paul Stolar. Welcome to our little Church!
We have 2 people who are unable to attend services and would like to receive communion, Gordon Crigger is at home and Ervin Glaspy resides at IOOF home.
I would love to train someone who would do that from time to time.
We love our two altar ministers but they might want a Sunday off. It is a great privilege for a priest to have some more people with him in the future. The training doesn't take long.
How About It??
NEW DIRECTORY: We will have a new directory coming out in a few weeks. We will have them to hand out or we can mail them to you, if you let us know. We thank Ann Peeler and Kim for their help.
Our little choir will be practicing on Wed. evenings at 7:00. No experience necessary.
We are about to receive some new material, paper, markers, erasers and small brasses as we begin our program for 2019.
We have 2 invitations; one from the Boys and Girls Club and one from the Daughters of the King in Kemp.
Watch the sunday bulletin for our next meeting and training session
If you do, for some reason, not want them just let us know
We know that you who receive this are more than inerested in the ongoing life of our church, and you contribute to it regularly. It will be helpful for the Vestry to come up with plans for this year. If we have some word or figure from most of you about what you intend to give for this year and not have to worry each month.
We pray for those who are fighting cancer and long term illnesses:
Birgit, Maria, Billy, Jose, Lynn, Jessica, Billy, Nancy, Patrick, Lisa, Ricardo, Linda, Thomas, Destri, Diedre, Jesse, Rafael, Jim, Sally, Lisa Ethan, Jana, Charlie, Wilson, Barbara, Harriet, Bryan, Roger and all Hospice Patients with their families.
Please let me know if a link is broken, or if you'd like to see more/other information.
I am looking for input on how this is going for you all! Please any input is appreciated as we make this transition from paper to electronic newsletters.
Copies of the newsletter can be found on the table outside the green room.
