We NEED your child(ren) here on Wednesdays! *letter attached*
Donation - 9 Square
Columbia Families –
Each and every Wednesday is an opportunity for our Columbia Students to really get time to connect with their assigned mentor teacher to start in some cases or continue in most cases that positive relationship between your student and their mentor teacher. As students do a wide range of items on Wednesday in their mentor classroom, there also is a time in the day in which we give the students and the staff a break in the day. Yesterday we had our groups of 9th/10th graders along with our 11th/12th graders participate in field day activities. The attached picture has become a very popular game called 9-square. I am looking if there is anyone in our Columbia community that may have the ability or connections in making a permanent 9-square court on our campus. Currently we are using PVC for the game but the students feel like it would be really neat to have this on our campus permanently. The neat thing about this game is a lot of people can play at a time. The basis of the game is to have 9 people, each person standing under the opening of the square above them. The goal of the game is to protect your square to keep the ball from landing on the ground through your square. If you would like more information or feel like this is something you could help Columbia with please contact me. Thanks for all you do!
