The Measure Of A Man

By: Ryan De Leon

"The gentlemen pronounced him to be a fine figure of a man, the ladies declared he was much handsomer than Mr. Bingley, and he was looked at with great admiration for about half the evening, till his manners gave a disgust which tuned the tide of his popularity; for he was discovered to be proud, to be above his company, and above being pleased; and not all his large estate in Derbyshire could then save him from having a most forbidding, disagreeable countenance, and being unworthy to be compared with his friend" (58).

The romantic opted for a life of the heart,

Their relativism made them appreciative of,

Diversity in men and in nature,

There are no universal laws,

There are certainly, no laws that would explain man

What is the measure of a man,

Is it strength,

Or Fearlessness

The measure of a man is not how much he suffers in the test,

But how he comes out at the end,

What cant be measured is a mans soul,

A mans soul;an inward interpretation of his outer soul,

As we are all warmed by the fire of a true man

These are things that measure the worth

Of a man as a man, regardless of birth

These are things that measure a man
