Marching Band Success!
On Wednesday, October 9th they earned a division 1 (the best rank possible) at the MSBOA District 6 Marching Festival. The festival was held at Niles High School. This festival was rated against a set of standards from the Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association. They were not ranked against other schools.
On Saturday, October 12th the marching band competed at the Lakeshore Marching Invitational. They went up against three other schools in class C - Brandywine, Coloma, and Constantine. The band played their best performance of the year! Our Shamrocks earned the caption award for Best Marching and also earned an award of excellence for music. They were 2nd place by .1 of a point! SO CLOSE!
With all of the craziness of this year - no stadium, new class schedules, and mosquitos - these students really stepped up to make this year successful. It is a testament to their work ethic and determination that they earned all these accolades and awards. Well done, Shamrock Band!
