Title I Information
Title I is the largest federal aid program for K-12 schools. Funds are allocated to individual schools based on the number of students that qualify for free/reduced lunch and student numbers. In Citrus County, all elementary and middle schools receive a Title I allocation. Title I funds target high poverty schools because research over the past 30 years shows that schools with high concentrations of economically disadvantaged students generally demonstrate lower levels of achievement than do schools with fewer economically disadvantaged students. The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. Students do not have to qualify for free/reduced lunch to receive Title I services.

PBS News
Citrus Springs Middle School is a proud recipient of the FLPBS:MTSS Project’s Model School award, Bronze Level, from the University of South Florida’s Positive Behavior System program, for 2013-2014. This award reflects the dedication and efforts of our school staff and administration to provide a balanced and effective educational and social atmosphere to our Middle School students.
The purpose of the FLPBS:MTSS Project’s Model School program is to identify schools that exemplify best practices in the implementation of positive behavior support systems. FLPBS:MTSS Model Schools may serve as demonstration sites for other schools looking to implement a multi-tiered intervention approach for behavior, and may also contribute to the field of PBS:MTSS implementation through their development of knowledge or resources. FLPBS:MTSS Model Schools are recognized at three levels. CSMS achieved Bronze.
Congratulations to our February Soaring Falcons, chosen by their grade level teachers:
6th Grade: Jacob Reynolds
7th Grade: Colton Dawson
8th Grade: Kaitlyn Taylor
