International Day 2020
Scantron Winter Assessment
Please help us to have a successful testing period by doing the following:
1) Encourage your child to do his/her best
2) Send your child to school each day on time ready to focus and work hard
3) Ensure that your child has a good breakfast - at home or at school
4) Remind your child that the test is to show his/her teachers and parents how much he/she has learned so far this school year
SCANTRON SCHEDULE

Cold and flu season is here! In an effort to keep our children well, we ask that you please remember the following:
Students should not come to school if they have shown signs of sickness before arriving at school (including fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.).
Students should not come to school if they have been diagnosed with a contagious illness or have a fever.
If a student has been diagnosed by a doctor with flu or another highly contagious illness, please inform the nurse at Gwin. We like to keep note of flu cases, and we clean and sanitize more in common areas where multiple cases have been reported.
Remember that you may write a note or provide an excuse from a doctor to request that missed days due to illness are counted as excused versus unexcused absences. This information can be provided up to three days after the child returns to school.
Students who have fever or other outward signs of sickness will not be allowed to ride the bus home. We require that parents pick-up their children in these cases to avoid having the child become more ill in route home or to avoid spreading the sickness to others.
Is my child a walker?
We have had an increase in the number of students who have been added to our walkers in the afternoon each day. This dismissal option is intended for children who are able to walk from the doors of the school to the door or their home. Many of our walkers are not walkers based on this definition. For safety and supervision reasons, we ask that children who do not live in true walking distance to the school be added to our carpool dismissal or bus if they are eligible to ride. Please note that we recommend that students who are walking home should have an adult at home to take responsibility when they arrive at home. The school is not responsible for children after school hours off-campus.
