PTSA Baking Night Video
In this fun night of family baking, talented chef, dessert innovator and Reed parent, Diana Spoveri, will teach us to prepare Cinnamon Apple Pie Cake! Event participation is free and open to ALL Reed families. This is a family event and safety is a priority -- so please be sure an adult is participating and supervising your student at all times. Materials are not included, but a list of what is needed will be provided. It's a night you will not want to miss so Register today to receive the link to attend!
BONUS: Families who choose to make a voluntary donation of $5 to PTSA for this event will receive a $5 discount off a future online class at Your donation will help fund prizes for our October Halloween Pumpkin Carving/Mask Decorating Contest and other student social events! Donate here!
THANK YOU to all the nearly 200 supporters that have already joined or renewed their PTSA membership -- especially our student members!

THANK YOU also to the families that have made a 100% tax-deductible voluntary donation. 100% of all donations stay at Reed, and any amount -- whether $10 or $25 or more-- is critical to our ability to empower our students and support our school!

Whether you are a parent, caregiver, family member, friend, teacher, staff member, third cousin twice removed, or community member - an individual adult membership is $10 per year.

There is no wrong or right way to be involved-- anything you can give, whether it is time, money, attending events, or high fives will support your child's potential.

Students who purchase a $7 PTSA membership by October 1st will receive a registration code to participate in our 1st PTSA Kahoot Student Membership Social on October 19, 2020 at 2:30 PM for the chance to win a prize.

Whether you want to play an active role, earn community or civic service credits, or just be part of our member social events -- Every way is the right way to PTSA!

Enter your advisory teacher's last name under "Teacher". If your teacher is not listed, you can add their name or select "other" (then email with the student's name and teacher name and we can add manually).

SURVEY TIME - WE Want to Hear From You by October 1st

STUDENTS, TEACHERS, PARENTS can all take our quick 5 minute survey -- in ENGLISH or in SPANISH. You have the option to share your opinions anonymously or to include contact information. Every decision we make at PTSA is guided by Reed community members like you -- and that's why we're asking for your help. Thank for your time and feedback!

Reed students have until NOVEMBER 1st to create their own unique interpretation of the theme "I MATTER BECAUSE" and share your talents in ● Dance Choreography, ● Film Production, ● Literature, ● Music Composition, ● Photography, ● Visual Arts, or ● Special Artist Division. Students may submit original artwork in multiple categories, but only one submission per category.

ALL Reed student artists of all levels are invited to participate! Online digital entry forms and directions are now available! Learn more!

Advocacy & Funding!

CA schools are facing a $12.5 billion budget crisis because of COVID-19. That’s about $3,400 per student or $90,000 per classroom. On top of that, LAUSD forced Reed to use its carryover funding from last year to pay for teachers to prevent displacements due to lower COVID enrollment.

What are the options to help schools?

1) Do nothing and hope the problems disappear.

2) Join the fight and TAKE ACTION by doing one (or better yet all) of the items below:

  • #PTSAVotes: Be sure to register to vote! This election includes an important local School Board vote. Ask questions of candidates to be sure they support Public Education funding! Also on the table are 2 state ballot measures supported by PTSA -- Proposition 15 (more here)and Proposition 16. The last day to register to vote in the November 3rd General Election is October 19th.

  • Complete a More Than A Meal Application by the end of September! Whether or not you are interested in the school meal program, the information from this application is used to determine our schools Title I status, which in turn impacts whether Reed receives critical school funding!

  • Join/renew your PTSA Membership to support advocacy efforts for school funding on a local, state, and national level and make a 100% tax-deductible voluntary donation. 100% of all donations stay at Reed for programs that benefit ALL students and families in EVERY academy and program! • Learn more about how CA schools are funded (or underfunded) to understand the current education funding crisis in California, which has only gotten worse under COVID-19!

  • Donate to the Friends of Reed Annual Giving Campaign to support important updates to Reed's campus technology, resources, and beautification to benefit ALL Reed students in EVERY academy. Learn more about Friends of Reed and how your 100% tax-deductible voluntary donation makes a difference!
