Hawk Happenings!

Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy

The First Day is Almost Here!

Good Afternoon, Families!

We are busy preparing for the first day of school. The teachers and the whole staff have been working hard to get their classrooms ready and prepare those lesson plans! A huge thank you goes out to all of our helpers on the Campus Beautification Day who helped with weeding, cleaning, and bark chips. Also, the Kristoff family has done a great job on keeping our soccer field mowed. Don't forget...the first day of school (Wednesday, Sept. 4th) is a half day with no Extended Care. Morning (and afternoon Extended Care) will begin on Thursday, Sept. 5th. We are all so excited to see the kids and the families and ready for our campus to come alive again!

By the way, Tommy Hilfiger uniforms have been backed up a couple of weeks. Don't stress if you are still waiting on one or more items to come in. We understand!!

Blessings,

Katie Dempsey

Big picture

What is Happening with the Church?

As many of you have seen in the Tacoma News Tribune, the Seattle Times, and even on KOMO, KIRO, and others, a decision has been made about the church. Unfortunately, the decision has been made to permanently close the church building and to tear it down. The community has been given 10 days to provide feedback to Archbishop Sartain. Several documents have been uploaded to the church website, if you would like to review them. Here is the website: https://holyrosarytacoma.org/

With respect to the school, there is no change for us. In the FAQ sheet, the question is asked, "What does this mean for the school?" Here is the answer from the Seattle Archdiocese: "The school will continue to operate as it has been. The Archdiocese will assure priestly ministry to the school." So, we will continue doing what we do best, providing a high quality, innovative Catholic education to all who are in our care. This is an amazing school and an outstanding community and we are blessed to begin the 128th year of education at Holy Rosary School!

CYO Coach(es) Needed

We are in desperate need of people to coach our CYO Cross Country team. If you can commit to this, please contact our Athletic Director, Jason Blessing at cyo@holyrosarybilingual.org.
