Great Job Blue Devils!!
Dear RMS Families:
This was a very busy and productive week for staff and students at RMS. We are continuing to help students learn their new schedules, login to virtual classes, and turn in assignments correctly.
On Tuesday and Wednesday night this past week we held virtual Parent Curriculum Nights for each grade level. Those meetings provided a lot of important details that are specifically tailored to individual grade-levels. We recorded each presentation on Youtube and you can find the link to your child's grade-level below:

Eighth Graders Join the reading fishing club
Reading Schools started a fishing club 2 years ago for students in 8th -12th grade and open to all students. It has grown to over club members. The club encourages students who have never been fishing and students who already enjoy the sport.
I will be guiding the club and have a number of exciting and educational classroom and local fishing trips planned. The purpose is to provide an outdoor hands on program for Reading Community School students and to improve their skills as an angler through a friendly exchange of expert catching techniques and ideas. It will also promote and encourage young adult fishing and a love for this great recreational sport, additionally encouraging healthy habits by spending time outside doing a physical activity.
The club goal will be to develop team building skills through face to face communication, education about water, create the spirit of competition and involve outdoor conservation. Furthermore, it will allow them to learn the science of water through its clarity, temperature, movement, PH level, chemical run off and survival of aquatic wildlife. The technology aspect that kids all love will not go away and will be used to help locate and catch fish!
Format: 6-8 fishing trips per school year for 3-6 hours at local water ways (Local Rivers, local farm ponds, and Hamilton County Park District lakes). We also will be participating in several local fishing seminars and public displays to help generate funds for the club. At the end of every year we will have a big trip the hold a fishing tourney where prizes and awards will be given away. This year's goal is to travel to Lake Erie for a guided fishing trip on the lake.
Transportation and equipment should be arranged by the club member. Some equipment will be available to first time anglers. We are also looking for active parent volunteers to assist with the club.
Please contact me with any questions you may have or if you would like to help!
