Class Placement 2019-2020

As you know, this year, a professional development day has been added to our regional calendar after the last day of school. One of the professional conversations that teachers will have on this day will involve placing students for next year. Our primary goal is to place children in learning environments that will encourage both academic and social growth. Teachers discuss these placements with their grade level colleagues and consider all relevant information so that each placement will result in a positive learning opportunity for every child.

This year, class assignments will be mailed to all students during the summer vacation in August. Homeroom teachers will NOT be printed on the final report card. Because teachers spend a considerable amount of time discussing the make-up of each class, it is necessary that new students or the departure of students over the summer are considered before the homeroom assignments are finalized. We appreciate your understanding of this important process and the necessary time it takes for this process to be completed.

Trimester 2 Special Recognition

On Friday, April 12 we celebrated almost 50 students who achieved special recognition during the second trimester. Special recognition students include any student who made the honor roll, along with students who received all 3s and 4s in their learning practice areas on their report card. To celebrate, students watched the movie “The House with the Clock in its Walls” and enjoyed snacks in the library. Congratulations to the students who were recognized during T2!

HVRFA Scholarship

The Housatonic Valley Regional Faculty Association has made great strides in raising funds to provide scholarships to our students. They have established a GoFundMe page to save the cost of mailing letters, and assist with the ease of donation. Please see the link below for their letter and donation information.

Policy Reminders

It is hard to believe that we have entered the third trimester! We are officially exiting the germ season and the warm weather is soon upon us! The three policies attached below are excerpts from the handbook. A quick reminder of our dress code, attendance policy, and wellness policy language. Thank you for reviewing these, and if you have any questions, please contact me.
