LAUNCH Summer Reading List

Story Intermediate School. Palestine, TX

*ATTENTION PARENTS AND STUDENTS* A CHANGE HAS BEEN MADE TO THE BOOKS TO CHOOSE FROM

To make things a little easier, we are extending the books that can be read for the summer Pre-A.P list. In addition to the Lone Star Reading List, you can now choose from the list of titles below. Most of these can be found on Overdrive or you can check them out from the school library. The campus will be open from 7:30-12 for the next several weeks so you can come and check a book out in person. I apologize for any inconvenience. I understand that many want to get the assignment completed early and I completely understand that. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My contact information is located at the bottom of this SMORE.

When using the overdrive app, the students log id is their lunch number. Their password is Cats2014

Dear Entering 6th Graders and Families

Summer is just around the corner and with its arrival comes the opportunity to plan for great vacation reading choices. Our summer reading goal is to invite students to read widely and to discover new areas of interest. Below is your summer reading assignment; please read the assignment very carefully and and email me if you have any questions at the address below.

This summer you will read a total of 3 books of your choice from the 2016 Lone Star Reading List or from the list above. You will complete the Texas Lone Star "One Pager" over just ONE of the books. The Lone Star One Pager does not have to be a book from the Lone Star Reading List. You will fill out the Google Forms Questionnaire over ALL 3 books. You will turn in your "One-Pager" on the first day of the new school year and all 3 Google Forms should be completed before the first day of school as well.

It is imperative that you allow yourself enough time to thoroughly read the novel as well as put effort intro your Texas Lone Star "One Pager" and Google Forms questionnaire. Please remember that I, too, am on vacation and will not be checking email on a daily basis. I will respond to any questions as soon as I am able.
