Kindergarten News
Week of January 5-9
Here are the highlights from the week!
Tuesday-We had guidance today with Mrs. Joyner. She did a lesson on tattling vs. reporting. They also read a book called Tattle Tounge and learned the difference between tattling and reporting. We also visited Raz Kids to practice our reading and comprehension. Then, we made paper plate snow people by cutting out different shapes. Check out the picture below! So creative!
Wednesday-Winter, winter, winter! What a cold day! In writing, we began writing about our hopes and dreams for the 2015 year! Students remembered their hopes and dreams from the beginning of the school year. This time, students wrote about making new friends to reading more books.
Thursday-Today we read The Mitten by Jan Brett. We did a fun mitten activity where students had to make their own mitten and put the animals inside. We talked about the beginning, middle, and end of the story. We also visited the Wonder Lounge.
Friday-In writing, we wrote about things we do in the month of January. Students came up with great ideas from making snowballs to drinking hot chocolate. We also read our non-fiction Let's Find Out about the real animals of the mitten.
