Vision Screenings

Oregon Lions Foundation will be coming to our school on Wednesday, March 2nd to complete vision screenings on all K-5th grade students. If you would like your child(ren) to opt out, please notify the school office in writing prior to that date. There is no formal letter or form for parents to complete. We just need something in writing (a reply to this message, handwritten note, signed email...) stating that you do not want their child screened. If the opt-out letter is not received prior to the date above, we cannot guarantee that your child(ren) will not be screened

Get to know your PTC!

The PTC organizes and funds a wide variety of programs to support the school and its students. One of the main programs we fund are school field trips. We also encourage community through our family nights, supplement academics with an art literacy program and make sure teachers have the supplies they need in the classroom.

Every project, event and program the PTC does, only happens because of volunteers. We need your help to make these things happen. Until December volunteer opportunities are limited, but we would love to hear from you if you are willing to volunteer when things open back up.

Volunteering can be as much or as little as you want, in whatever you are interested in. You can come a little early and help set-up an event, or you could lead a whole new program, there is something for everyone.

If you are interested feel free to email us admin@salemheightsptc.org, visit our website for more info, find us on Facebook, or join our next virtual meeting March 10th 6:00pm:

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is getting full! Parents are welcome to stop in and search for their student's item, we will just need you to sign in at the front office and wear a mask.

Alternatively, you are welcome to call and let us know what your child is missing, and the office can check for you. We will need to know color, type of clothing, and size of missing garment.

EDGE APPLICATION WINDOW MARCH 1 - 31

Big picture

Established in 2020, the EDGE program is a K-12 program within the Salem-Keizer public school system. This program was created to meet the needs of families seeking an alternative pathway towards graduation and support student development of digital literacy skills. EDGE’s curriculum is standards based, incorporates digital tools, and is measured by proficiency-based assessments. EDGE students, while enrolled in the program, continue to have access to their resident schools for resources such as after school clubs, as well as other extracurricular activities.

An opportunity to learn more about EDGE for prospective students and their families are scheduled. Two optional Parent Informational Nights will be held on March 10th 6:00 pm-7:00 pm and March 15th 6:00-7:00 pm. Both nights will be virtual. Link will be provided via the EDGE Website. https://edge.salkeiz.k12.or.us/

Your student must be enrolled and have a student number in Salem Keizer School District to be accepted into the EDGE program. If you are new to the Salem Keizer School District or have a student entering kindergarten for the first time, you must enroll at your resident school before admission can be granted into the EDGE program.
