Get to know your PTC!
Every project, event and program the PTC does, only happens because of volunteers. We need your help to make these things happen. Until December volunteer opportunities are limited, but we would love to hear from you if you are willing to volunteer when things open back up.
Volunteering can be as much or as little as you want, in whatever you are interested in. You can come a little early and help set-up an event, or you could lead a whole new program, there is something for everyone.
If you are interested feel free to email us admin@salemheightsptc.org, visit our website for more info, find us on Facebook, or join our next virtual meeting March 10th 6:00pm:

Lost and Found
Alternatively, you are welcome to call and let us know what your child is missing, and the office can check for you. We will need to know color, type of clothing, and size of missing garment.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR PARENTS OF 5TH GRADE STUDENTS:
APPLY FOR SECONDARY TRANSFER MARCH 1 - 31, 2022
Current fifth grade students (entering sixth grade in September) who want to attend a school other than their assigned school next fall (2022-2023 school year) must apply for in-district transfer (IDT) between March 1 and March 31, 2022.
IDT applications received after March 31, 2022 will not be considered.
IDT request forms can be picked up at any middle school office, and must be completed and returned to the student’s assigned middle school during the application date window. There is no guarantee a transfer request will be approved. Students attending school on an IDT are not eligible for bus transportation.

SALEM-KEIZER CHARTER SCHOOL
Salem-Keizer Public Schools currently sponsors four local charter schools:
- Optimum Learning Environments: Grades K-5
- Valley Inquiry Charter School: Grades K-5
- Howard Street Charter School: Grades 6-8
- Jane Goodall Environmental Middle School: Grades 6-8
Charter Schools are independently operated, publicly funded schools. The charter school establishes a contract (a charter) with a sponsor, often a school district (such as SKPS), university, or public educational institution depending on the state, to which they are academically and financially accountable.

EDGE APPLICATION WINDOW MARCH 1 - 31

Established in 2020, the EDGE program is a K-12 program within the Salem-Keizer public school system. This program was created to meet the needs of families seeking an alternative pathway towards graduation and support student development of digital literacy skills. EDGE’s curriculum is standards based, incorporates digital tools, and is measured by proficiency-based assessments. EDGE students, while enrolled in the program, continue to have access to their resident schools for resources such as after school clubs, as well as other extracurricular activities.
An opportunity to learn more about EDGE for prospective students and their families are scheduled. Two optional Parent Informational Nights will be held on March 10th 6:00 pm-7:00 pm and March 15th 6:00-7:00 pm. Both nights will be virtual. Link will be provided via the EDGE Website. https://edge.salkeiz.k12.or.us/
Your student must be enrolled and have a student number in Salem Keizer School District to be accepted into the EDGE program. If you are new to the Salem Keizer School District or have a student entering kindergarten for the first time, you must enroll at your resident school before admission can be granted into the EDGE program.
