Principal's Report - Dr. Phillip Reavis
Give a Hoot Food Drive
Please join Student Council in their annual food drive, March 14-18, as they feed the hungry in our community. Canned and boxed food will be donated to God’s Pantry in Simpsonville. Our goal again this year is to collect 10,000 canned/boxed food items. If we reach our goal, an Oakview business partner will make a $4,000 donation toward the purchase of additional food for God’s Pantry! Give a Hoot next week as part of our annual Food Drive!
Preschool, K5, & 1st Grade Game Night/Art Show
March 18 @ 5:00-8:00
Come join the fun at our final game night and art show of the year! Playing bingo is FREE for all family members and a pizza dinner will be on sale. Student artworks will be on display in the gym with donations accepted.
Spring Garden Workday
March 19 @ 9:00-11:00
Get out your garden gloves and come help Oakview get its outdoor habitats ready for the spring season! You do not have to be an expert in gardening. Our butterfly garden, nature trail, S.C. Garden, and apple orchard can all benefit from your time and attention. Garden Work days are an excellent way to for middle and high school students to earn service learning hours and are a great way to spend time with family!
PTA President's Report - Celeste Blinston
Hello, Oakview Families! It is hard to believe that winter is coming to a close and we are approaching the final months of the school year! I am including one of the thank you notes that PTA received from our wonderful faculty for the mini grants that PTA awarded last month. PTA has you to thank for the being so generous and allowing us to work on your behalf to better our school!
I also want to thank you for your support of the Spring Book Fair last month. It was one of our school's largest book fairs to date and PTA is fortunate to have had Kelly Long, Leslie Ferrell and Tammy Terry chairing Book Fair this year.
We are looking forward to our third Family Game Night and Art Show for families and friends of K-4, Kindergarten, and 1st graders on Friday, March 18. Also, our Nominating Committee continues to meet to slate PTA officers and committee members for the 2016-2017 school year.
And, as always, please don't hesitate to contact me at cblinston@charter.net if you have any questions.
