Holly Academy News & Views
December 11, 2020
The "COVID season" has been difficult for all of us. One lovely outcome has been the increased sense of community, compassion, and grace we've experienced. Even though Tuesday's decision to pivot to remote learning impacted our families in significant ways, we received many personal messages of support. Those messages fuel us as educators. Please try not to stress over remote learning, we are in this together, and together we will conquer this new challenge! Thank you for your support. Power of the Pack!
Healthy Huskies
If you or your Husky receives a positive COVID result, please contact the school as soon as possible. On a weekend or in the evening, you can email any of the administrators. There are measures that we have to take immediately, including contacting the health department if a student tests positive. Thank you.
Confirmed Case: A person with laboratory confirmation of COVID-19 infection, irrespective of clinical signs and symptoms.
I want to thank our students, families, and teachers for their ability to quickly pivot to remote learning this week. While we believe face-to-face instruction is best for students, the safety and health of our Husky Pack is paramount. I appreciate everyone’s flexibility and willingness to ensure their Husky is learning over the course of these next few days.
You should have access to all of the Zoom links from your student’s homeroom teacher. If you have difficulty accessing Zooms, Google Classroom, Odysseyware, or Big Ideas Math, your first point of contact should be to the teacher. As you know, in our Y5’s through 5th grades, reading and mathematics will be prioritized with Zoom instruction during remote learning. Other subject areas will continue through Google Classroom and Loom videos. Middle school students will follow a schedule that mirrors what they are doing in school a little more closely.

ALL HVA STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN THEIR FACE TO FACE TEACHERS IN THE ZOOMS THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 14TH.
As always, if you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Potteiger at potteigj@hollyacademy.org.
