Picturesque Poetry
Mrs. Kotch’s ELA classes watched Junior Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman’s, reading of her Inaugural Poem and created their own poems. Each student presented and read their poem in class. The poems embedded figurative language, creativity, honesty, and emotion. Great job!
Student Spotlight: Joey Davis
Here at Mill Pond we have such a kind and caring group of students. This week we have the privilege of recognizing one.
Earlier this year, we received a call from a teacher in another district who explained that her stepmother lives across the street from sixth-grader Joey Davis. The teacher's stepmother fell and crawled to her garage door to open it. Joey heard her yelling and instantly ran over to help her and get help. Without hesitation and without expectation of recognition or reward, Joey displayed his genuine kind and caring nature.
C. S. Lewis is quoted saying: "Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching." Joey, in your act of kindness and selflessness you displayed integrity. Your Mill Pond Family is so proud of you! May you continue to shine bright and encourage our community. We are thankful for you!
In appreciation,
Mrs. Fisher, School Counselor, on behalf of Mill Pond School Staff
