Dress: Band Polo/Black Pants-Please remember black dress shoes and black socks for boys and black
dressy shoes and black socks, if appropriate for girls

5:45-Band Hall Doors are unlocked
5:55-Seated on STAGE-Do not play your instrument until instructed to do so.
6:00-Warm Up Begins
6:30-Concert Begins
6:40-Transition to seats to watch Jazz Band/Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble
Jazz Band
5:45-Band Hall Doors are unlocked
6:20-Seated on Set Up to side of Stage-Do not play your instrument until instructed to do so.
6:30-Concert Begins-Watch Concert Band from Set Up
6:40-Jazz Band Performs
Symphonic Band
5:45-Band Hall Doors are unlocked
5:50-Seated in BAND HALL-Do not play your instrument until instructed to do so.
6:00-Warm Up Begins

6:10 Enter Through Band Hall Doors
6:20-Seated in Reserved Section of Cafeteria
6:40-Move to Band Hall for individual warm up after Concert Band

*Students will enter through exterior Band Hall doors. Friends and family attending the concert will enter through main entrance and follow signs to the Cafeteria. Doors open at 6:15pm.*
*Please Bring a Donation for the SPCA! Needed Donations are on back of this itinerary.
Concerto Competition
Who: For Advanced Band Members Only
Entry Deadline: December 21, 2018
Cost: $35 for entry fee and piano accompanist. 2 rehearsals and Performance are included.
Contest Date: Tuesday, February 5, 2019
How to Register:
Complete the online registration Google Form by December 14th. Visit the registration form at http://bit.ly/ihsconcertocontest
All information must be completed to submit.
How to Pay:
Check’s made out to your campuses Band Booster Club or via the shopping cart in CHARMS
Repertoire Requirements:
Solo must be approved by Band Director and/or Lesson Teacher
Include Piano Accompaniment
Single movements of a larger work may be performed, but no shortened solo performances.
Process:
Students will enter in one of the following age appropriate classifications:
Middle School-Brass. Middle School-Woodwind, Middle School-Percussion
This will be an open performance on the stage at Nelson Middle School where a single judge will select the winner for each classification. Prize for winning will be announced at the conclusion of the contest. This performance will be open to the public.

BEGINNING BAND INFORMATION
Beginning Band Practice Journals-Reward Trip
Please make sure your student has their Practice Journal filled out and signed to turn in Monday. Extra Practice Journals can be found in the front of the band hall.
Students will be given a Holiday Project next week. Be on the lookout! All students are expected to practice over the break.
