Dear Everitt Families:
We made it through our first week of testing! I am so proud of our kids for their perseverance in putting in their very best effort, even after a year when we've asked them to withstand a lot of loss and and a lot of change.
If you have a student who gets anxious about testing, help them remember that standardized tests don't measure the most important parts of what makes a person wonderful, talented, extraordinary-- like their intellectual curiosity, their heart, their character, their kindness, their creativity, their courage. Though we are proud of our students who excel on these tests, we are also proud of our students who struggle to show their knowledge in this particular way.
As always, thank you for believing in the power of neighborhood schools to bring our communities together, and thank you for sharing your kids with us; it is our honor to serve them.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders
Please keep traffic flowing by pulling up all the way to the end of the drop off area before letting your student out of your vehicle, and by filling in gaps between vehicles in cue.
Please drive slowly and carefully; remember that students don't always use the crosswalks and that cars are pulling out of parking spots into the flow of traffic.
We encourage families to stagger their pick ups at the end of the day. You are welcome to pick up your students any time between the final bell and 15 minutes after school releases. There will be supervision in front of the building until then.
We ask that students and families stay off their phones and stay aware as they walk or drive through the parking lot.
8th Grade Continuation (UPDATED)
We plan to host a live, in-person continuation ceremony to celebrate our incredible 8th graders as they take an important step toward their future in the transition to high school.
- The guidance from our school district right now is to maintain the restrictions from level "Yellow," which means we are asked to limit outdoor gatherings to 175 participants. Under these guidelines, we will host continuation live with the option for students to attend in-person; however, we would not be able to accomodate families in-person due to limits on the size of outdoor gatherings. Both students and families have the option to attend Continuation remotely through livestream or pre-recorded video at a time that works best for them.
- As we get closer to the event, we will share our final plans and more detailed information.
For now, please "Save-the-Date" for Wednesday, May 26th from 6:30-8:00pm. Continuation will be held on the south side of the Everitt school building.
Don't hesitate to call Jeena at 303-982-6288 with any questions you may have!
