How Can We Help Students Succeed in the Classroom?
Graphic Organizers
- These are visual tools that allow students to organize their thoughts in any subject.
- They can create it or the teacher can provide one that is already filled out.
- There are many different types of graphic organizers. Use what works best for the topic and the student.
General Modifications
- Check for understanding by having students respond to padlets or "replying" to announcements
- Use simple language in announcements
- Break learning into smaller steps
- Pre-teach vocabulary
- Vocabulary Notebook - Include a picture, definition (in their own words), example, and non example)
Reading Passages... A great website!
- This is a great website that allows you to search for different topics.
- The reading passages are leveled by grade and Lexiles
- They are followed up by reading comprehension questions!
