What's New in the STEAM Lab?
BreakoutEdu Kits!
We now have 3 Breakout kits that can be checked out of the STEAM Lab for teachers to use with their classes. If you are not familiar with BreakoutEdu you can check out their website or watch the video below for a quick breakdown. Once on the website, you can register for access to their free game library. Once registered they will send you the secret code to unlock the games!
Since they are new, we still do not have a system in place to keep track of locks and combinations. It can be really tricky if you can't remember the combination as the lock can't be used again! We will be working on getting a system into place, so stay tuned for that!
Introducing Breakout EDU
Building Blocks!
If you need a place to have a "build the tallest tower" competition or experiment with ramps, the lab now has some fantastic wooden blocks for building! There is also a tub of smaller blocks. Unfortunately, this isn't an item that can be checked-out from the lab and please make sure they are put back nicely when you are done.
COMING SOON! - Mundy Lego Wall!
We are only in the early stages of the building process, but the STEAM Team is excited to announce that we will soon have a Lego wall! It will be a great place for kids to use their imaginations and build with Legos from a whole new perspective! Kids can create tessellations, marble mazes, or even do math. We will let you know as soon as we are up and running!
Mundy STEAM Newsletter
What's New With You?
For the spring STEAM newsletter, we would like to highlight the different STEAM activities being done at each grade level. Please send a blurb and a picture or two for your grade level to Shareen by April 14th to be included in the newsletter. This newsletter will be shared with parents in a few weeks.
Also, keep uploading your STEAM pictures to the Google Mundy STEAM team drive. It makes it easier to have everyone's pictures together when we make slideshows or want to showcase what you are doing!
