TSIA 2 Testing
Are you planning on attending a Texas public college? If so, you need to be identified as “college ready” to be placed in freshman-level college courses in math and English. There are a few ways to demonstrate college readiness:
Have an SAT Reading/Writing score of at least 480 and an SAT math score of at least 530.
Have an ACT combined score of 40 on the English and Reading (E+R) portions and an ACT score of 22 on the mathematics portion.
Earn college readiness scores on the TSIA 2.0.
What is the TSIA 2.0?
The TSI Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) was created by the state of Texas to help determine whether students are ready for freshman-level college courses in mathematics and English language arts and reading (ELAR).
High school graduates who do not meet one or more of the benchmarks on the TSIA 2.0, or who do not meet one of the TSI exemptions, are required to participate in developmental education course(s) prior to, or together with, enrollment in certain freshman-level college courses. This could increase the time and money spent in college. https://blog.texasoncourse.org/educator/when-to-take-the-tsi-assessment-2.0-and-why
Allen High School offers the TSIA 2.0 on March 19, 2024. The cost to participate in the TSIA 2.0 at AHS is $20. Registration is required.
Students will be notified of the testing location at a later date. Testers should arrive at their testing location by 8:50 AM on exam day. Students must present identification to be admitted to the test.
