Principal Chat

Welcome to Friday the 13th! I hope only GREAT things happen for you and your family!

Thank you to all who joined us for Math Night! It was a huge success - we fed 400 people and had many more who chose not to eat. We have distributed ALL prizes from the prize drawings and the estimation stations. We want to improve our Math Night next year and would LOVE feedback to help us. If you attended Math Night, please complete the survey:

We need volunteers to help with Field Day. Please contact your child's teacher to see how you can help. All the games and activities are staffed but your child's teacher would LOVE help wrangling kids :) Field Day is June 1st (the last day of school). Filed Day is 9:00 - 1:30. All volunteers receive FREE lunch. PLEASE do not bring younger siblings or non-Bridge children to Field Day.

Please keep up on your emails and social media if possible as these are the first methods of communication with parents.

Have a terrific weekend!

Alphabet Count Down

One thing our 2nd graders look forward to is the Alphabet Count Down at the end of the school year. They start with A (Art - painting t-shirts using glow paint) and end with Z (Zoom home). The pics below show J (Jump), K (kickball) and and L (lounge and learn).

Butterflies - A Theme in Kinder and 2nd Grade

Mrs. Call's kindergarten class have been watching their caterpillars complete the life cycle and turn into butterflies. Then, they got to experience the excitement of letting the butterflies go into the neighboring field.

In 2nd grade they were super lucky and got to experience a virtual field trip from the Butterfly Biosphere!

EOY FAMILY SURVEY

The end of year (EOY) family survey is nearly ready for parents to complete. This information you provide through the survey is a vital part of our reflection, growth and improvement. The link to the survey will be sent in an email.

Save Your Slightly Used School Clothes for Back to School Night Uniform Swap

During Back to School Night , August 11, we will have tables set up for a uniform swap. Our uniform swap does not involve any money. Instead, parents bring their slightly used school clothes (dress code pants and shirts), fold them nicely and place them on the table according to size. Parents take items that they need for their children.

How Can I Help My Kiddo This Summer?

Parents always ask WHAT can kids do over the summer to reduce the "summer slide"? We are SUPER lucky at Bridge as our Imagine Learning vendor will keep student access available until about July 30. Even our 6th graders who are leaving us for bigger pastures can still use Imagine Learning. Imagine is such a great option as it is adaptive and knows what students know and what they need to learn. If your child uses Imagine Learning just 20 - 30 minutes, 4X week over the summer, they could potentially eliminate the academic regression that occurs over the summer.

Lost & Found

PLEASE grab your children's items from the Lost & Found. The Friday after school is out ALL items will be donated.

Progress Reports

The end of year progress report will be sent home the last week of June. The progress report shows student's scores at the beginning of year (BOY), middle of year (MOY) and end of year (EOY). We choose to use a progress report as it allows us to show the student's growth for the entire school year. Growth is more indicative of what a child has learned than a traditional grade of A, B or C, especially for students who are not grade level proficient in language arts or math.

As elementary "grades" are not required, we will not update Aspire with grades (A, B, C,D) for students. The end of year progress report will accurately where your child is in relation to grade level standards.

Closed Toe Shoes

Just a reminder - students cannot wear shoes with open toes (sandals, flip flops, etc.) to school - even on dress down days. Students are required to wear closed toe shoes every day to school.

Breakfast & Lunch Next School Year

Our hearts are broken to announce this.....the flyer below explains that beginning NEXT school year, breakfast and lunch are no longer automatically free for students. Instead, parents will need to complete the free/reduced meal application through Aspire. The new application will be available in July. We will notify parents when the application is available. FREE or REDUCED meals will apply to students based on parent income, homeless status, and SNAP status.

Dinner, which students receive when attending BASE, our after school program, will still be FREE for students.

Big picture

Registration for Next School Year

If your child is registered to attend Bridge next year, your circumstances have changed and your child will no longer be attending Bridge, PLEASE let the office know ASAP. We are full in every grade except 5th grade and still have 100s of kiddos in the lottery waiting for a spot to open up.
