MCCHS FRIDAY FOCUS

51th Edition: November 17, 2017

Pilgrims on the Way of Truth

Happy Thanksgiving!

And just like that, we are approaching mid-2nd quarter! November flies by, as our weeks are filled with retreats, conferences, in-services, and of course - our Thanksgiving break!

Our 8th Grade Visit Day was a huge success today! 8th Graders from all of our deanery schools toured the school, participated in departmental activities, and even got a sneak-preview of our fall play, The Miracle Worker before it opens tonight! We also hosted all the deanery Social Science teachers in our annual department articulation meeting. We started this tradition a few years ago, and have provided middle-school and high school department teachers in the deanery the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and build relationships! Our goal is to share the latest methods and research with each other to provide the absolute best educational services to all of our students!

Be sure to come out this weekend to see our fall play production of The Miracle Worker. Many who have caught glimpses of it in rehearsal have just raved about the sheer talent of our students, and some have even admitted to "having something in their eye" as they wiped tears away during a few scenes. Tickets are available at the box office before the show!

Also, please consider attending this coming week's special Thanksgiving Mass held on Nov. 22nd at 9:12 am. What a wonderful opportunity to give thanks to the Lord together as a school family before we celebrate with our own later! We usually begin all-school mass at 8:55 am, but with the early dismissal, we needed to adjust the schedule a bit! This mass will include a new tradition of recognizing students who have gone above and beyond in their dedication and service to others. If your student has completed service projects in the past calendar year that were not associated with any Marian-sponsored club, team, or activity - please complete the form linked below and we will be honored to celebrate them at this mass! The deadline for completing the form is 3:00 pm Sunday, Nov. 19th!

We cannot say it enough - but we are so very thankful for our Marian Community. Our faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and grandparents - you are all in our hearts and prayers. May you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
