High school classes are probably a topic at the dinner table of most 8th-grade students. On December 8th, they attended a presentation on electives for next year, and on January 16th, they will have the opportunity to meet with their counselors. On that day, they will also be asked to “Submit” their elective selections. In advance, students should turn in their selections (signed by a parent) to their first-hour teacher by January 10 and enter their selections in Career Cruising by January 26. I am quite happy to support you and your child with the selection process. Please let me know.

A Breath of Fresh Air!

We are now better using our lunchtime to give kids some time outdoors! Along with having some athletic equipment to play with, it gives our students time outdoors to get some fresh air!

For the winter, our requirement is that they wear a hoodie sweatshirt or warmer, and long pants. If the weather is 20 degrees or below, we will not be going out.

Be Kind for 25 Wrap-Up from the Rise Program!

Our Rise Program's mission of spreading kindness throughout these past several weeks has been inspiring! They have made it a priority in their daily lives and have helped to bring smiles to many here at Wredling. Here's what they accomplished each day this week:

  • Monday - They told someone a joke to brighten their day!
  • Tuesday - They read with a friend.
  • Wednesday - They bought a gift for someone to brighten their season.
  • Thursday - They told others why they were thankful!
  • Friday - They wrapped presents for others to share this holiday season.

It is their hope, and ours, that our Wredling Community has been positively impacted by their many examples of showing kindness. In fact, our hope is that their "spread kindness" initiative will cause all of us to be mindful of how we treat others and to continue sharing acts of kindness over break into the coming new year! Even a small gesture can mean the world to someone! #risestudentsrock, #spreadkindness

Our halls were productive at the beginning of last week. As Friday arrived, Mr. Loversky and his Merry Elves planned a day full of fun winter festivities. There was caroling by our music groups, Secret Santa surprises, a movie for the PapaNicholas coffee sellers and many Team activities. The day was capped off with Winter Fun Assemblies which recognized our fall athletic groups, our fantastic teams & our wonderful Wredling staff! We played some team trivia and had a giant (indoor) snowball fight! Wishing all of you a healthy, happy winter break!
